Hey there folks!
I’m coming to you smack dab in what is likely the busiest stretch I’ve ever had in my time as a creator…which I think if you’ve followed my journey knows that’s saying something.
PRESS
As of 8PM tonight (Wednesday) we’ll be in the last 7 days of the campaign and we’re kicking the hype train into full gear (no pun intended…well, kinda) I’ve got 4 interviews scheduled for today and 4 interviews scheduled for tomorrow…we’ve got a spot running on Jeff Jarrett’s My World podcast and a few more biggies to drop between now and then.
Last week, we did a podcast with my pals over at WrestleBuddies and its worth a listen. I think we have some good chemistry as we’ve done a lot of talking together. Check it out HERE.
We also had a story drop today on Comics Beat, who’ve been a longtime supporter of Headlocked and one of the top comic sites out there. And you can check that out HERE.
At 6PM today, I’ll be on FiteTV promoting the book on Joshua Shernoff’s show, FITE in Focus, which is super wild to me. Check that out here HERE
Friendly reminder that if any of this stuff happens to make it in your social media orbit….any type of signal boosting….retweets, shares, or reposts would be greatly appreciated!
Exclusive
We ran a 24 hour promotion for Halloween featuring this nightmarish print of your favorite horror-themed wrestlers by the incredible Dartallion!
SuperSu
Super dope, right?
Since y’all are subscribers…if missed the promotion and would still like to add it to your reward tier, just message me through the Kickstarter and add 15 dollars to your pledge and I’ll allow you to add it on until the end of the campaign. I can only do this for US customers only for the moment.
New TFR Collabs
As I announced last week, it was made public this week that we teamed up with new Impact Tag Team Champions, The IInspiration on a Tales From The Road story that will be dropping in November .
Unfortunately, I can’t show you much of that at the moment but this thing is going to blow your minds. Doug Hills and Jacob turned in what I consider their best work ever for Headlocked…and we’ve done a lot of stuff together.
And there’s an incredible classic style cover by Lauren Moran, that y’all are gonna love! You won’t want to miss this one!
And right now, we’re working on a very special Christmas story with perhaps the unlikeliest of collaborators and a very special celebrity tie-in! We’ll have more information on that one as the month progresses but it’s going be so much fun!
Upcoming Shows
We’re still waiting final approval from SDCC so I know what our booth placement is but I’ll be a part of three panels at the show. We’re working on some signings and exclusives for the show as we speak.
And as subscribers, I will be making sure y’all get first crack at any type of exclusives we release, so keep your eyes peeled because we’ll be making stuff for SDCC, ECCC, and C2E2 for sure!
Currently, we have Jerry Lawler booked for ECCC and Lawler, Matt Cardona, Chelsea Greene, and The IInspiration booked for C2E2. We’ll have more on dates, appearances and exclusives once we get through this Kickstarter!
Stuff I Loved This Week
Squid Game - late to the party and only a few episodes in but definitely loving the intrigue. It makes me feel very much like LOST did back in the day, which is a very good thing…let’s hope they stick the landing!
Maniac of New York - a really timely concept from Aftershock Comics by Elliot Kalan, Andrea Mutti, and Taylor Esposito. There’s an unkillable Jason Vorhees style killer stalking the streets of New York and since the cops can’t kill him…they just kind of ignore him and let New Yorkers try and go about their lives in a world where a machete-wielding madman can strike at any moment.
A few years ago, this might’ve seemed a little far-fetched but I find it really kind of hits on the times we live in. And I’m a sucker for slasher stuff…so I really dug this. You can find it on Comixology HERE
Wrestling - There was a ton of great wrestling this week…I really enjoyed the ladder match on Raw last Monday with Owens, Balor, Rollins, and Mysterio and I loved Shida vs Serena Deeb from Dynamite as Serena continues to be perhaps the most underrated talent in either WWE or AEW.
I’ll be back next week to push the last week of the Kickstarter and with some thoughts on the changes at Ring of Honor and the possible farewell of Shimmer.
Thanks so much for reading this and supporting Headlocked!
