Hey there!
Checking in on the other side of our wildly successful Kickstarter for Tales From The Road Volume 2. The campaign ended up being our second most successful Kickstarter both in backers and money raised…so as you can imagine, we’re super excited over here!
Media
One of the cool things about the Kickstarter is getting to do some new and interesting media opportunities. I was fortunate enough to employ the services of PR madman Marc Kruskol (@mjkpr on the Twitter machine), who secured me a bunch of opportunities that I wouldn’t have had the time or the connections to pursue.
Check out just a sampling of some of the cool stuff I got to be a part of!
And this dope SI story actually got tweeted out by the main Sports Illustrated Twitter account, which I think is pretty wild.
Newest TFR Collaboration
While we’re plugging away at getting the collected edition of TFR together, we’re still pumping out new collabs almost every month.
Check out these gorgeous covers by Lauren Moran and Doug Hills, respecively for our collab with Impact Wrestling tag team champions, Cassie Lee and Jessica McKay, better known as The IInspiration.
And on top of that, we’re full speed ahead on our December collaboration with an as yet unnamed superstar. It’s a Christmas story and Doug is killing it on the art for it and it’s going to feature a cover by the legendary Jill Thompson!
Here’s just the tiniest taste of it…definitely more to come. This one’s gonna blow your mind!
Appearances
The rest of the year is going to be a mad sprint…after this weekend, we face the craziest three week convention stretch I’ve ever done.
Thanksgiving weekend, we’ll be rocking SDCC Special Edition with my friends at Slingshot House. I’ll also be a part of three panels, which I’ll talk more about in next week’s update.
The following weekend, we’ll be headed to Seattle for ECCC with Jerry Lawler and possibly another guest or two. Also hosting two big panels there.
And the weekend after that, we’ll be at C2E2 in Chicago with Jerry, Matt Cardona, Chelsea Green, and The IInspiration. We have a huge wrestling/comics panel hosted by Nick Hausman of Wrestling Inc with Jerry, Matt Cardona, and Lan Pitts.
And then I return home to work 11 days straight to close out the year.
It’s going to be insane. If you see me at any of these places, come say hey…perhaps throw me a high-five, a hug, or a doughnut…your boy is gonna be running on fumes.
COOL STUFF TO CHECK OUT
SURVIVING SUPERCON - a feature length documentary about the sheer insanity that goes on behind the scenes at one of the biggest conventions in Florida. If you’ve ever been to a comic con, it’s definitely worth your time to check out. It also features Gangrel beating the crap out of Geoffery the Toys R Us Giraffe and a couple of scenes featuring….me!
It’s readily available at iTunes and a number of other outlets. Check it out!
Also wanted to put a bit of a spotlight on some of my friends Kickstarters that I believe are worth your time.
Red, White, and Broke
This super fun super hero series is funded and there are two days left to get in on it! I read almost no superhero books, so if I'm pushing it...that says something.

Beef Bros Behind Bars
It's no secret that I love original and unique voices in comics. Well, Aubrey Sitterson and Tyrell Cannon are doing something no one else is doing in comics and they're taking it all the way over the top! If you're not a regular comics reader, you might recognize Aubrey as formerly the host of the excellent Straight Shoot podcast and The Comic Book Story of Professional Wrestling. This campaign ends on Thanksgiving and still needs some help in getting over the line...so please show em some love!

Chance for Survival
Kingdom James is one of my favorite people I've met from wrestling and a super versatile comics creator...producing F1rst Hero for Action Lab, the all-ages Heroes of Homeroom C, and now this monster/survival tale, Chance for Survival. I've seen a lot of this book and not only is it great but it looks gorgeous! With 8 days to go, this campaign needs some help getting over the line, so please check it out!

That’s all I have time for this week, but I’ll be back next week with some more info on our upcoming convention appearances and a more in depth sneak peek at our Christmas collaboration!
