Hey there!
You might have noticed that I did not make an update last week. And, yes, there was a good reason for that.
You see, last week, was perhaps one of the wilder non-convention weeks that I’ve experienced. Everyone wanted to talk. Some of it is stuff I can’t talk about yet or stuff that’s still in negotiations but I honestly think I slept more during NYCC.
The super cool thing I can talk about is that we’ve finished next month’s TFR collab and it’s a super duper fun one with one of the best to ever do it.
WWE Hall of Famer, Trish Stratus!
Fresh off her iconic heel run on WWE TV (culminating in that incredible cage match with Becky Lynch) the GOAT herself, joins us for the next installment of Tales From The Road. Now, Trish is in the middle of 14 hour days filming Canada’s Got Talent and also in the middle of her “Bad Girl” convention tour.
So we had to work extra hard to get this story finished. I will tell you that Trish is one of the most driven and hardest working individuals I’ve ever met and I’ll forever be grateful that she found time to collaborate with us in the middle of such an insane schedule.
And that was just the tip of this iceberg this week.
I also has some preliminary talks with some HUGE names to bring their talents to Tales From The Road. We’re still in the very early stages but the fact that there is interest is really cool.
I also landed a deal with a chain of conventions for a special edition of Tales From The Road that will be distributed to VIPs across all of their shows featuring some new collabs and a special variant cover drawn by a pretty big name in comics!
There’s also something that I have to be a little more vague about but there are two huge things in the works that could potentially fund a ton of content next year.
And I began talks for a licensed project that could potentially be the biggest thing I’ve ever done.
I’ve already got slots lined up for the crate, we’ve got Headlocked Vol 5 and TFR Vol 4 already slated for next year, a collaboration with Masked Republic dropping mid-year, and up to 24 cons potentially on the docket. Add in these other things and your boy is gonna be running for his life!
One thing is for sure…2024 is going to be our biggest year ever!
Find us on Tik Tok!
Listen, man. No one is grumpier about having to learn another social media platform but I do think Tik Tok has some real potential to help us grow. We have a lot of fun at conventions and I think it would be neat to share some of that with everyone.
Plus, with the advent of Tik Tok’s direct selling platform, there’s potential to bring you opportunities to get some con exclusives or autographs direct from the show!
I’m still trying to get good at it, but give us a follow: Here
Twin Cities Con
This weekend, I’ll be headed back to Minneapolis for the first time since the pandemic for Twin Cities Con!
I’ll be posted up at Booth 935 with all the usual dope Headlocked stuff. Both X-Pac and Lita will also be in attendance, so get your copies of Tales From The Road signed by them! And if you don’t have their issues, I’ll have plenty on hand! Trish will also be in the house as part of the aforementioned Bad Girl tour so be sure to let her know you’re excited to check out our collab next month!
I’ll also be taking part in two panels :
Fri 4PM: Wrestling and Comics with Lan Pitts, Joe Hunter, and Dave Wheeler in Room 201
Sat 2PM: Make Your Own Damn Comic Book - Room 201
Looking at the temperature, it’s probably the first convention where I’ll likely have to wear pants exclusively in about 5 years. The things I do to get my hands on an authentic juicy lucy!
I appreciate all of you that made it to the end. So if you’re still here, you have my undying thanks…even if you skimmed :)
See y’all next week, probably carrying a few extra pounds thanks to Minnesota’s propensity to put lots of cheese on things and my propensity to eat a lot of cheese.
Fun wrestling stuff this week:
Loved MJF vs Kenny from Collision. They’re both as close to sure things as it gets in a main event singles match…and they delivered. The video package to hype this was also top tier.
Really loved the Creed Brothers vs Alpha Academy on Raw. Alpha Academy is so versatile and the Creeds have such a bright future. Fun way to debut them!
Loved the McIntyre video package last night as well.
